When highly stressed, recalling or imagining being in a calm place can help your mind and your body to settle and relax. When using your focused attention to imagine being in a calm place, your mind and body respond as if you are actually there. When you are in a place of calmness, your thoughts begin to slow down and your body can relax and release tension.
